We feel honoured to be alongside our sisters, supporting and nurturing them through there life changing journey. We believe that these times are precious and will be part of the mother and who she is forever, so we are dedicated to help create the best memories and moments that she will cherish, and one day share with the baby she birthed earth side. Committed and steadfast, we want to change the world one birth at a time!
Who are the “we”?
Sumayyah aka umm Omar
A dedicated wife, mother, Podcaster and Doula. I attended my first birth at the age of 17 but found my call to doula-ing 15 years later and now have 5 years of doula experience. Other than my passion for birth, I love studying my religion Islam, socialising with my sisters and being outdoors with my family. My passion lies in attending births, however my current goal is to educate as many sisters as I can while sharing my knowledge, as I hope to expand birth education internationally.
Hamida Oxytocin addict:
Well... I can start off by describing myself to be a very ambitious, colourful, nature lover, Plant-a-holic. I am a VBAC mum to 2 young girls, a full-time university student, Podcaster and a Doula that aspires to become a midwife. Despite a very full schedule, it will not get in the way, nor prevent me from doing what I love to do. I have been passionate about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and women’s health in general for as long as I can remember. After I had my first baby, I thought it was impossible to achieve what I wanted to do, Midwifery, so I got into a teaching degree thinking it would be an easier occupation for a mother, but little I did I know. I discovered it was not the place I wanted to be, and I just did not feel connected. I dropped the course and fell pregnant with my second baby. It was a VBAC pregnancy, oh so precious. Early on during my pregnancy I came across the doula course. I decided to take that step, and oh boy! the day of my doula graduation I knew I couldn’t just stop here, I wanted to go further, and here I am on this journey to become a Midwife.
What we do?
We aim to help women explore options to achieving their dream birth while feeling confident, empowered and informed of ALL their rights. As our experience continues to grow, our deep trust and understanding in the physiological process of pregnancy and birth continues to grow, so we encourage and support mothers to trust in their instincts, bodies, knowledge and power of their brain. We also guide women to connect to their strength while feeling strong and heard, as every woman has the right to have her emotional needs respected and met.
