Sumayyah Giddins
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, my name is Sumayyah (Umm Omar).
I studied my doula certification under Nakhlah Childbirth International in 2015 and now I am the director of the organisation. I manage this page and feel free to reach out via the contact page if I can assist you in any way.
I am a Mizan Therapist and passionate about natural alternative medicines.
I am currently travelling the Islamic world. My passions in life are attaining Islamic knowledge, raising my children and offering comfort and care through childbirth to my beloved sisters in Islam both in my motherland and my homelands ;).
When I became Muslim in 2001 I understood that I inherited many many sisters from all around the world and I finally felt I found that large family I always wanted. I am always trying to think of ways to connect with my sisters and offer them my help. I will still being doing this online for sisters even if we are not residing in the same country via social media and online workshops.
I realised that a labouring woman needs to be focused and not have to worry about anything else except remembrance of Allah and the birth of the gift He SWT has given her. I tried to facilitate that for her and found that I was able to benefit them in ways that they would be forever thankful.
To all my sisters, I love for the sake of Allah.

Aya Halaby
My name is Aya Halaby, I am a birth and postpartum Doula.
Being one of the youngest from a large family, my teenage years involved lots of baby bumps and helping my older siblings care for their newborn babies. Pregnancy, birth and babies have always been a big part of my life and after hearing the struggles of those I care about during there birthing experience, I felt inspired to become a doula.
Giving birth is a life transforming event, one that may imprint on you forever. My dream for the women I work with would be, for them to feel nurtured, respected and supported every step of the way. So that they can feel confident and prepare for a positive birth experience, as they define it. I support mothers (and fathers) in their choices, providing unbiased information so that they can come to their own conclusions and make informed decisions that suit them and their family.
My philosophy is to inform, inspire and support expectant parents to have a safe, satisfying and positive experience as they transition into parenthood. My overall aim as a birthing and postpartum doula is to help the mother experience a positive labour and birth for a gentle transition into motherhood.

Cristy Joy Pineda
Assalaamualaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu (Peace be upon you and God’s Mercy and Blessings).
My name is Cristy Joy Pineda and I am a Registered Nurse, Wife and Mother as well as a doula, having obtained my certification from “Nakhlah Childbirth International”.
I am proud to say that since reverting to Islam in 2018 I have been on a journey to obtaining an in-depth knowledge and understanding of women’s health through adapting my clinical studies as a nurse as well as my doula training. I have also placed an emphasis on adopting key Islamic principles in order to serve all women through pregnancy, childbirth and their postpartum journey.
My years as a registered nurse has opened a wide range of opportunities to care for a range of people from infancy to adulthood. I have seen the depths of health from birth and the one thing I felt that was missing was the consistent support through overwhelming and challenging events in life. Pregnancy and labour being one of those things. Through my own personal experiences having planned a homebirth to then having an unexpected hospital transfer to birthing my son via forceps, I wouldn’t have been able to have this positive experience I did without the guidance of my very own doula and amazing midwives. Since then, I have felt compelled to do more for the community. I have always had a profound love for children – since the birth of my son and navigating through my motherhood journey, my passion only now seems to increasingly grow. I hope to feel connected to women everywhere, to nurture, support and play a unique role to fellow sisters by fostering a women centred, holistic approach by providing the right tools and education.
I aspire to be more than just a registered nurse and doula – I hope to further excel in my studies to gain more knowledge and adapt it to my line of work to provide what is best for women today Insha Allah. I hope through this platform I will be able to make a difference to women everywhere. I truly believe I can change the outlook of motherhood one birth at a time through tackling birth trauma, encouraging many to take control of their postpartum experiences and instilling positivity throughout the amazing process.
I thank you all for wanting to be with me on this journey.
With all my Love & Oxytocin,

Hamida Farache
Assalamualaykum!
My name is Hamida, I am a prenatal, birth and postpartum doula. I’ve studied to become a doula through ‘Nakhlah Childbirth International’.
My long term dream goal is to become a midwife inshaa'Allah, but for now I have been blessed with the opportunity of becoming a doula to support families throughout their precious journeys of pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
I’ve always been passionate about pregnancy, birth and babies but my passion grew even more during my own personal pregnancies and births (caesarean and VBAC) , and I came to appreciate how overwhelming it can be to not feel supported during these irreplaceable times, so that’s when I decided I wanted to become a doula! To support and positively enhance birth experiences of women.
Supporting mothers during the most valuable times of their lives, means everything to me and I love to witness the miracle in a pregnancy and birth, it truly is something that will never stop to continue amazing me, it reminds me of how great Allah swt our Creator is.
As my experience continues to grow my deep trust and understanding in the physiology of pregnancy and birth continues to grow, and I believe that every woman has the right to have her emotional needs respected and met.
I aim to help women explore options to achieving their dream birth, whether it’s for a VBAC, induction birth, home birth, unmedicated birth or caesarean birth. I also aim to support them to trust their own instincts as mothers.
It truly is an honour to come alongside sisters as they discover what each birth will mean to them while welcoming their baby earth side feeling knowledgeable and empowered.

Jemimah Hawatt
My name is Jemimah, I am a doula and nursing student.
I am very passionate about supporting, educating and nurturing women throughout their journeys as they bloom into motherhood. This includes fertility support (I am also a Mizan Womb Therapist), pregnancy, birth and postpartum support.
I believe positive birthing creates the foundation of wellness and loving relationships in a family.
When women learn about the physiological processes of birth, and the perfection of Allah swt’s creation- they are able to have birth experiences that are empowering, informed and prepared for.
Birth is not just about bringing a baby into the world, but rather- a mother, and father- are also born.
I also have a background working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which enables me to support pregnant women with disabilities. In all birthing circumstances, I believe women deserve to have a doula.

Soulyma Arnaout
Assalaamu Alaykum lovely ladies, my name is Soulyma Arnaout.
I am a Prenatal, Birth, and Postpartum Doula, a graduate of Nakhlah Childbirth International. I am also a trained Postpartum Therapist providing postpartum massage, Jamu belly binding, nutritional herbal support, and postpartum care. I am currently studying vaginal steaming, which I cannot wait to add to my services.
My journey in becoming a doula began after witnessing how different my daughters birth experience was with the support of her doula. My goal is to educate and empower women to make informed decisions confidently. I want them to remember the most incredible experience of their life as a beautiful and life changing moment, no matter how it unfolds.
Another area I am passionate about is Postpartum Care, as it is essential for recovery. It is an area that has been neglected for some time. I want to revive the traditional practices of nurturing and supporting a new mum during her first 40 days. Encouraging rest and providing her with the support she needs that will not just benefit her and her baby, but the whole family.
I look forward to sharing your journey into motherhood, providing you with education, advice, support, and care that you need throughout your pregnancy, your birth and postpartum.

Vildan Boyaci
Assalamualaykum,
My name is Vildan. I am a Doula graduate from 2022 and attained a certification through Nakhlah Childbirth International.
I have always been passionate about medicine, healing and women's health (prenatal, birth and postnatal). I remember as a young child reading book after book about the human body and particularly being amazed by the miraculous way in which a baby is formed in the comfort of its mothers womb. After becoming pregnant myself, this passion of mine grew, and I took the time to further research everything pregnancy and birth related.
Despite hiring a Doula and attending birth classes, I soon realised that I lacked one of the most crucial traits a pregnant woman needs – self-belief. I knew the physiological and biological aspects of labour, and the many ways of optimising my chances of a natural birth, however I failed to trust and believe in myself. This in turn stripped me from the birth that I had envisioned and as a result I suffered birth trauma and fell into crippling postpartum depression.
In hindsight I understand everything happens for a reason. My previous experiences led me to dive deep into myself, heal my insecurities and build trust with my own body and baby. Thereafter, in my second pregnancy, I was able to have a successful home birth with the support of women around me.
This whole experience pushed me into pursuing my passion in this field and becoming the Doula I am today. I wish to support women during this beautiful journey to motherhood, comfort them, advocate for them and remind them that they are more than capable of achieving what they put their minds to by the will of Allah.

Krystal Pigram
Assalamu Alaykam my beautiful sisters ❤
My name is Krystal and I completed my Doula certification in 2020 with other wonderful likeminded women. Previously I have a professional background in Early Childhood which has enabled me to build relationships with Mothers and Children for over 10 years.
After my own birth experience, I decided that I would become a Doula to assist other women through their pregnancy, birth and postpartum Journeys. I believe that the way we birth our babies can shape our entire outlook on motherhood, and can deeply affect the way we feel about ourselves and our offspring.
As a Doula, my role is to support you emotionally, physically and practically so that you feel confident, nurtured and loved! You have all the power and intuition that you need to bring your baby earthside. Allah has created women with innate abilities to carry a child within their womb for 9 months and birth their baby physiologically. You got this!
Each birth that I have attended has humbled me and has allowed me to feel privileged to be in this space with women. I can’t wait to be apart of your journey.
Lots of love,
Krystal xx

Sahar Sleiman
Asalamu Alaykum Wa RahmatAllahi wa barakatu,
My name is Sahar Sleiman, I’m a mother of 5 children and born in Australia, I grew up in the Parramatta region & always had a passion for childbirth. I graduated in 2014 with Nakhlah Childbirth International with the beautiful Aisha. I have had 8 years of experience, and attended many births in that time.
I believe every women deserves to have an empowering birth experience, and I strive to educate & support women emotionally and physically to achieve the most memorable moments of their childbirth.
